OLD USF School of Law Grade Distributions (Curve)

Note: these are the grade distributions prior to the Fall 2007 semester. See here for the current distributions.

I've seen a fair number of hits for this information in search requests that have come in, usually landing on this. It's not unusual for me to want to reference this information. So, here it is, from the Student Handbook, the required grade distributions (roughly, the grading curve) for the USF School of Law.

First Year Courses

Maximum Minimum
A- and above 15% 5%
B- and above 60% 45%
C- and below 20% 13%
D and below 5% 0%

All Other Required Courses (including Professional Responsibility but not including Legal Ethics) and All Bar Electives

Maximum Minimum
A- and above 20% 5%
B- and above 65% 45%
C- and below 20% 10%

Seminar Courses

Maximum Minimum
A- and above 40% 15%
B- and above 100% 45%

All Other Courses (including Legal Ethics but not including Professional Responsibility)

Maximum Minimum
A- and above 40% 15%
B- and above 90% 45%
C- and below 10% 0%
