So, I'm sitting here in the student lounge, pretty much just wasting time, having finally gotten my Advocate of the Year brief in.
There's a group of 4 or 5 folks behind me talking about one of their professors. He apparently referred to someone -- a woman -- in class the other day as a carpetbagger.
"Oh my god, I couldn't believe he did that," exclaimed one of these students.
Another asks, "Do you know what a carpetbagger is?"
The student who was asked started to give her definition which is... Well, let's just say, it's not what a carpetbagger is. The one who had the answer gave a pretty poor definition, which she had to look up on Google. Apparently at least two or three of them had to google it after class, according to the story.
All of which means, there's a group of at least 5 or 6 USF law students who, among them, have apparently never taken a meaningful class in U.S. history or followed politics. It's kind of scary.
